It's been a great ride.
Our last day of eye exams will be December 30th, 2025.
Our last day for medical visits, urgent care, and glasses/contacts pick-ups will be January 21st, 2026.
A letter from our doctor:
Dear Patients,
I am writing to share some important news about our practice. After much careful thought and consideration, I have made the difficult decision to close Clarity Eye Care. Our last day of regular operations will be December 30th, 2025 and we will remain open for glasses pick-ups and urgent medical visits until January 21st, 2026.
This was not a decision I made lightly. As many of you know, I recently took over the practice from my mother, who cared for this community for more than two decades. It has been a tremendous honor to continue that legacy and to serve you and your families. However, the landscape of private optometry has changed significantly in recent years. Increasing administrative demands, staffing challenges, and the financial pressures of today’s insurance environment have made it increasingly difficult to sustain a small, independent practice in the way I had hoped. I want you to know that I have worked hard to find a way to keep the practice open and explored every option available to me. Unfortunately, despite my best efforts, I have not found a viable way to continue.
Rather than allowing those pressures to compromise the quality of care I provide or lead to burnout, I have chosen to transition into a new setting where I can focus more fully on what I love most — taking care of patients. I want you to know that this decision is about creating a sustainable future for myself as a clinician, and it in no way reflects how much I value the trust and loyalty you have shown me.
I am taking a new position beginning in February 2026 at Eye Specialists. This well-established practice has two locations: One at 72nd and Cornhusker in Papillion, and the other Galvin Road in Bellevue. I will be seeing patients at both locations. I have chosen this position carefully, as I believe that this practice is well-equipped for me to continue offering you the care and quality that you have come to expect for another twenty years. I hope that you will choose to make the transition with me.
If you would prefer to keep your care closer to the Northwest Omaha area, I am glad to assist you with finding another provider. If you wish to obtain a copy of your medical records or have them sent to another provider, please fill out and return the included form and mail it to us, or fill out a records request on our website. We will be happy to help facilitate the transfer of your care and answer any questions you may have.
Thank you, sincerely, for allowing me to be part of your eye health journey. It has been a privilege to care for you, and I remain deeply grateful for the trust you’ve placed in me and my team.
With heartfelt appreciation,

Laura Armitage, OD
